Lorton, Virginia
Steeped in history, Lorton was named after a village in England and is the site of Gunston Hall, an 18th-century Georgian mansion once home to Founding Father George Mason. The historic Lorton prison is being developed as Liberty Market, a vibrant village of apartments, townhouses, single-family homes, and retail space. The former prison grounds are also the site of a cultural arts center. Lorton has plenty of outdoor recreational space, including Occoquan Regional Park, Pohick Bay Regional Park, Laurel Hill Golf Club, Pohick Bay Golf Course, and a variety of hiking and bike trails. The suburban community offers a wide range of real estate options.
