Ballston, Virginia

Perhaps Arlington’s hippest urban neighborhood, Ballston is a vibrant live-work-play community with an amazing dining scene (dozens of restaurants in just a five-block radius), stylish shops, and high-rise residential and office buildings. Ballston has a relatively young population and is known for its walkability – residents often visit supermarkets, restaurants, and drug stores on foot. Boston Quarter is the community’s recently renovated retail center, a destination for dining, shopping, and entertainment, as well as home to the MedStar Capitals Iceplex, where the Washington Capitals practice. Ballston sits along I-66 and is served by Metro’s Orange and Silver lines, providing convenience for commuters. The largely renter-based community is known for its high-rise condos, but also offers row houses and some single-family homes.
